SASSA has confirmed revised November 2026 grant payment dates, approved by National Treasury, because of the Local Government Elections on 4 November. Older Persons are paid early on Friday 30 October, Disability Grants on Monday 2 November and Children's Grants on Tuesday 3 November. Grants under review are paid on Thursday 5 November.
SASSA CEO Themba Matlou announced a digital transformation programme on 19 September 2026. Self-service kiosks will roll out to all 432 SASSA offices nationwide, free Wi-Fi will be available for beneficiaries at offices, and WhatsApp enquiry channels will allow grant holders to check status, update details and lodge queries without visiting a branch.
Daily Maverick's Digital Profiteers investigation (Part 3, 4 September 2026) reveals that two insurers — Clientele Life and Sanlam subsidiaries — collect 87% of all funeral policy deductions from SASSA grants, totalling approximately R143 million per month from nearly one million beneficiaries. Many were enrolled without meaningful consent. SASSA law limits deductions to one, capped at 10% of the grant — but enforcement has been inconsistent.

Why Older Persons Are Paid on 30 October
Older Persons are normally paid first each month. Keeping that pattern would have put pension day right before election day, with queues at the same halls and shops many people use to vote. Paying on Friday 30 October gets pensioners their money before the election week.
It is still your November grant. It is not an extra payment, it simply arrives a few days early.
Plan for the longer gap: because November’s money arrives on 30 October, you will wait a few days longer than usual until your December payment. Budget with that in mind.
Election Day: Wednesday 4 November
The President has declared election day a public holiday. SASSA does not pay grants on public holidays, so no grants are paid on 4 November. You can vote and collect on your own pay day without the two clashing.
If Your Grant Is Under Review
SASSA has set aside Thursday 5 November, the day after the election, for beneficiaries whose grants are under review. SASSA asks you to respond to any official message it sends you and to go to your review appointment when asked.

SRD R370 November 2026 Payment Dates
The SRD R370 is not part of the revised schedule above. It has no fixed calendar date. SASSA pays it in batches, usually in the last week of the month, and gives every person their own pay date.
How to find your November SRD pay date:
Go to srd.sassa.gov.za from around the 20th of November
Enter your 13-digit SA ID number and registered phone number
If you are approved for November, your pay date shows next to the month
If it shows “Pending”, check again in a day or two
Your October SRD payment still comes in the last week of October as usual. See the October 2026 payment dates.
What to Do If Your November Payment Is Missing
Step 1: Check your date in the table above. Remember Older Persons are paid on 30 October, not in November.
Step 2: Check your bank account or card directly. Money can arrive without an SMS.
Step 3: For the SRD, confirm your pay date and banking details at srd.sassa.gov.za.
Step 4: If your pay day has passed with no money, call SASSA free on 0800 60 10 11 (Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:00) or WhatsApp 082 046 8553.
Do not reapply. It will not speed anything up and can affect your grant.
