Important Update
The SASSA SRD R350 grant was increased to R370 per month from April 2023. Everything else is the same — same portal (srd.sassa.gov.za), same WhatsApp number (082 046 8553), same USSD code (*120*3210#). Only the amount changed.
If you see "R350" on your old status messages, this refers to your current SRD R370 account. Your status checks, banking details, and appeals all work exactly as before.

About the Grant
The Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant is a monthly payment of R370 provided by the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) to unemployed South Africans aged 18–59 who have no other income or social grant.
Applications and status checks are handled online at srd.sassa.gov.za. SASSA processes applications monthly and payments go out between the 21st and 30th of each month.

srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/status Enter your 13-digit ID number and registered phone number. Your current status — Pending, Approved, or Declined — updates monthly around the 10th–20th.
