SASSA pays the Child Support Grant on the third day of its monthly payment cycle. In April 2026, that is 8 April. In May 2026, it is 7 May. The grant amount is R580 per child from April 2026.
Care Dependency Grant and Foster Child Grant are paid on the same day.

The Child Support Grant was increased to R580 per child per month from April 2026 — an increase of R20 from the previous R560.
A caregiver can receive the Child Support Grant for multiple children — there is no statutory limit, but each child must meet the eligibility criteria and be means-tested.
The grant is paid to the caregiver (parent or primary guardian), not to the child.
