How to Read the SASSA Payment Schedule

SASSA pays grants in a fixed cycle each month:

• Day 1 of cycle: Older Persons Grant (Old Age Pension)
• Day 2 of cycle: Disability Grant
• Day 3 of cycle: Children’s Grants (Child Support, Care Dependency, Foster Child)
• ~Day 21–30 of month: SRD R370 — paid in batches, announced monthly

The cycle starts on the first business day after the 1st of the month. If the 1st is a weekend or public holiday, the cycle moves forward accordingly.

SASSA 2026/2027 — Older Persons & Disability Grant Dates

SASSA 2026/2027 — Children’s Grant Payment Dates

Child Support Grant, Care Dependency Grant, and Foster Child Grant are all paid on the same day — the third day of the SASSA monthly payment cycle.

SASSA SRD R370 Payment Dates 2026/2027

Unlike other grants, the SRD R370 grant is NOT included in SASSA’s annual payment schedule. SRD batch dates are announced monthly — typically around the 10th–15th of each month.

All grant amounts were increased from April 2026 following the National Budget announcement. These amounts are fixed for the full 2026/27 financial year unless amended by Parliament.

What Happens When a Payment Date Falls on a Weekend or Public Holiday?

SASSA does not pay on weekends or public holidays. When a scheduled date falls on one of these days, SASSA moves the payment to the last business day before the holiday.

2026 Public Holidays that affect payment dates:

• Workers’ Day: 1 May 2026 (Friday) — May payments start 5 May (Tuesday)
• Youth Day: 16 June 2026 (Tuesday) — June payments start 1 June
• National Women’s Day: 9 August 2026 (Sunday) — observed 10 August
