SASSA Payment Dates 2026
SASSA has confirmed the payment dates for April 2026. Older Persons Grant will be paid on 2 April, Disability Grant on 7 April, Children’s Grants on 8 April, and SRD R370 between 21–30 April 2026 in two batches.
April 2026 is also the first month with the increased grant amounts following the annual Budget adjustment.

ℹ️ Grants are paid on the same day at all payment points — Post Office, retailers (Shoprite, Pick n Pay, Checkers), and direct bank accounts.
The SRD R370 grant is paid in two batches because SASSA processes millions of payments and cannot release all funds on a single day.

Your personal Pay Day falls within one of these windows. Log in at srd.sassa.gov.za using your ID number and registered phone number to see your specific date.
⚠️ Do not panic if your status shows Approved but no Pay Day yet. SASSA assigns Pay Days progressively from the 10th of each month. Check back after the 15th.
April 2026 marks the start of the 2026/27 financial year, bringing the following grant increases:

The SRD R370 grant amount is unchanged for 2026/27. Advocacy groups continue to push for an increase, but no change was announced in the 2026 Budget.

Step 1: Confirm your Pay Day date at srd.sassa.gov.za — your date may be in the second batch (29–30 April)
Step 2: Check your banking details are correct on the portal
Step 3: Check your bank account directly — funds sometimes arrive without an SMS notification
Step 4: If your Pay Day has passed and no payment arrived, call SASSA on 0800 60 10 11
Step 5: WhatsApp SASSA on 082 046 8553 with your ID number and payment query

May 2026 payments will begin in the first week of May:

If your Pay Day has passed and you have not received payment, the most common cause is incorrect banking details. Check and update your details at srd.sassa.gov.za. If details are correct, call SASSA on 0800 60 10 11.
