SASSA SRD COVID-19 Grant Payment Dates for July 2026 Announced

SASSA announced that COVID-19 SRD grant beneficiaries should expect their July 2026 payments on 23 and 24 July, according to The South African. Recipients were advised to monitor their bank accounts on both days as payments are processed in batches and not all beneficiaries are paid simultaneously. Alongside the payment announcement, SASSA launched a new WhatsApp self-service channel accessible at 082 601 0111. The automated service operates 24 hours a day and allows beneficiaries to check payment status and receive grant information without visiting a SASSA office or calling the agency’s frequently overloaded call centre. This addresses a longstanding frustration among SRD recipients who struggle to get timely information through existing channels.

SASSA reaffirmed its commitment to delivering “the right social grant, to the right person, at the right time and place.” The agency also warned beneficiaries to verify payment information only through official SASSA channels and to be cautious of scams and unofficial sources circulating grant information on social media. The SRD R370 grant continues until 31 March 2027. Each month’s payment depends on passing the monthly revalidation check against SARS and Home Affairs records.
