No account creation is needed. You log in using your ID number and an OTP sent to your registered phone. There is no username or password to remember.
Some mobile networks have zero-rated srd.sassa.gov.za, meaning no data is used to access it. Check with your network provider (MTN, Vodacom, Cell C, Telkom) whether zero-rating applies. If not zero-rated, the portal is lightweight and uses minimal data.
